Nice Shot! Looks like the roll bar setup has stiffened things up a bit. When the photographers catch those really good shots, you simply have to buy them! I think I posted mine in my street/strip thread but I'll have to check.
Why not just get some lightweight aluminum wheels of proper width and some real wrinklewall slicks to put on when you race a track? Radials suitable for running around on the street are only a compromise and you already have a set of those!
Hoosier Drag Racing Slick 28.0 X 10.0-15 D06 - 18150D06 These fit nicely on an 8" rim and are quite sticky. Better use tubes and screws.

I may end up going with a set of 15x8 wheels if they dont fit on the 15x7s. I have really had my eyes on the Jegs SSR star wheels in black, I just really like the stock/sleeper look especially with the factory swirly wheels.
Although slicks would be a lot easier to hook with, I would like to stick with a drag radial if possible because i often dont swap tires after racing and drive it a bit on the street with the drag tires on it. Slicks can make that a bit more interesting. haha
I got another picture that i thought was cool so i figured id share.
I also figured out that i don't have enough tire under the rear when the prep is not perfect. I went to another local track that does not prep as well and could not get it to hook.
For next year i am looking into a set of 275/60R15 rears and i am going to try them on the factory 7in wide wheels although its not recommended. If they are too wide for my liking then i guess ill have to have a different set of wheels specifically for racing because i love the stock look on the street.
Dang! That is a cool picture!! I notice that you have the side-view mirrors folded. At the risk of exposing my ignorance, in drag-racing can doing such things make a noticable difference in your times?

There are streetable drag radials and then there are DRAG RADIALS without tread that are soft and sticky and won't last at all on the street if you really want to hook consistently.
But your 60' from when you posted a time slip was just fine. What was it on the run when you didn't hook?

Im not sure if they make much of a difference because i have not done a side by side comparison, but at 100mph+ anything helps. These passes i was giving it everything it had and seeing how fast i could run since i had the roll bar installed so i wanted everything i could in my favor.

Here are my slips from my local track. Its not spinning too bad, but it does not dead hook unless the prep is perfect with my current tires.
The last run was terrible because it danced bad off the line, then pulled right towards the other lane and i lifted twice to get it back in line. It was quite a butt hole pucker kinda run in the beginning.
Definitely spun quite a bit. Over a full tenth different from before. Interesting that MPH is down a full MPH as well at the 1/8th. Looks like not as much power as before when you ran the 10.9 ET. Was this not as good of air as before, or did you run capped headers or something? I suppose even a supercharged engine is susceptible to weather as long as boost is controlled by just pulley ratio. I suppose turbos would be less affected by weather because they can control to same boost level and that would tend to make the air uniformly dense from day to day - the only thing that would still vary is humidity.
My advice... if you want to ever go multiple rounds in a bracket race, you will need consistent 60' times and reaction times less than 0.05 Looks like you are getting a good handle on the reaction time. Good job! If you can get it to dead hook consistently, then I predict you will do quite well bracket racing.
As an aside, doesn't running 1/8 mile suck? To me it's like having to abort in bed.
For anyone that is curious, you can fit 275/60R15 tires on the factory 7in wide swirlies. They do bulge a bit and ill see how they do at the track when the weather gets warm again. These are drag radials that are not supposed to be a daily driven tire, so i am not worried about street manners or tread wear with them. I will have to play with the psi and see what the contact patch looks like, but i would really like to keep the sleeper look if possible. If they dont work out then i will end up buying 8in wide wheels and going with a different look for the truck.
