Very nice work indeed.
Coming along very nicely. Glad to hear that it fits.

Will need some fabricating for the TB and air intake. Looking forward to see how it works out.

BTW. What is the weight of this engine compared to the V6?
This is becoming increasingly interesting with an aluminium V8 because of similar weight which will not set up handling.

For the intake I just bought a cheepo Tahoe/Silverado cold air intake that I am going to modify to make it fit.
From what I have read the 5.3 and the 4.3 will weigh about the same when fully dressed (somewhere around 500-520lbs) I believe this is due to the 5.3s alum heads and plastic intake. I can tell you that my blazer doesn't appear to sit any different so far.
If you go with an all alum LS1 engine I believe you save about 60lbs but you will spend a lot more money and then run into the sleeved cylinders issues if you want to bore and build.

Man, you work quick. The engine looks right at home in there.

Well i got the intake and the center console done. All i have left is to have a custom exhaust made and final tweaks/tune.

Also some information for anyone who does this swap. and uses the Corvette accessory setup with a 4L60E transmission.

I was able to use the factory S10 Power steering return hose but I had to use a 2002 corvette power steering pressure hose and it fit like a glove.

Because I am using a 5.3 with a return style fuel system i was able to use the factory s10 fuel system. I am currently running the factory s10 fuel system all the way from the pump to the back of the intake. I was even able to use the factory mount on the back of the left head, I cut the factory line there and used 6AN to 5/16 and 3/8 hard line adapters. I then ran very short 6AN fuel hose to the 5.3 feed and return lines.

For the transmission cooler lines, I am using factory 2002 Tahoe hard lines from the transmission to the front of the engine. I cut the lines there and used 6AN to 3/8 hard line adapters. I then ran all 6AN hose to the radiatior and auxiliary transmission cooler.

I was able to use my factory transmission cross member and driveshaft with the engine pushed all the way forward in the engine mounts.

Very nice!! Did you go with the factory exhaust manifolds or did you end up with headers?

Im running ceramic coated shorty headers. The only good long tubes i found wont work without a ton of modification in a blazer.
