Re: 1989 Blazer build (2wd)
Here is where I left off today. My welder decided to burn up a drive motor this morning so need to order one asap. I was wondering why it was welding a little odd last night and this morning when it stopped welding and smoke started pouring out of it.
I ran down to grab my other welder at work but found out I am starting Wednesday so decided to take the rest of today off and work on my house tomorrow instead. So excited to go back to work!

Thank you, it is nice to see it taking some shape.
I wouldn't have minded having another week or two off but it sure will be nice to go back to work and in a new shop with no stress.

So quick update. I started my new job last week and it is really slow so they told me to bring in my Blazer to have something to do in between jobs coming in. I have been working on it a little here and there but not much worth pictures but did realize something today. I now have all my good tools and a spot welder I can use if needed!
Got some odd looks towing it to work lol
And the Blazer's new home for a while.

Thank you Frank!
Started my rear inner wheelhouses today and finished shaving the rear pinch weld on the lower quarter panels. If no work comes in tomorrow planning on startling on my rear wheel well vents but not sure because still thinking about how I want to design them to fit the body style.

Been getting a lot of little stuff done on the Blazer the last couple of weeks. I am learning as I go and it seems to be taking a lot longer than I would like making parts but it is fun.
I started on the rear sheet metal and have the rear quarter panels almost done but need to get the inner metal done before I finish them up.
Needed a break from sheet metal so started back on the cage and chassis. I have a few more bars to add in and finish the front frame horns but the chassis and cage are almost done.

One heck of a setup you got going to work on it. Banging sound system in background. Still looking good tho as casual observer what is goal now? I mean it really is beyond a stock 89 blazer. It seemed the project kept evolving as you went, is that still the case?
It still is evolving! I am now at the point with the virus crap of doing little stuff to it until I can start making paychecks again. So for now trying to finish up my chassis and cage then back to sheet metal but starting to run out of materials to work on it with.
Feel for you, on one hand all this time being told to stay home means time to work on it but not getting out means no cash flow and limits project progression alone being able to buy what you need. Not sure by you but here so much is just closed or real limited hours and rules if it is open. Heck I just got back from funeral for my mother over weekend (not virus related/it's ok, was expected- had cancer bad and her suffering is over) and now in forced 14 day stay home lock down no exceptions because I left my fine home state of Kentucky for it. Keep at it tho, I dont comment much on your work but I do read all the updates.
