Default Staypuff's 96 S10 4WD LT w/212,000 miles

Sooooo since my time here, whenever i registered back in the day i havnt contributed much to the cause of information. well its time that changed. what im dealing with is what you see in the title. currently its sitting in my driveway with the entire rear axle dismantled, brakes all apart everything. i feel now that i have the time im going to strip everything the best i can (im not foose nor do i have to manpower/garage/or resorces to go all out, so this will be good enough). so while i have everything off and apart its all getting stripped of rust via wire wheel, grinder, and wire cup...depending on what it is. then we have a nice coat of acid etch and another coating of some sort to follow.

now when im all finished with this thing the plan is this

1. strip, clean, prep and paint everything i possible can romoving and preventing all rust that i can.
2. build custom roof rack, already know what i want...ill post some pics after i draw it up in CAD
3. need to add new circuit for all the various lights and bull****, if someone knows how to install something like this let me know.....looking to get some main power to a box with all kinds of switches.
4. need to upgrade the big 3, havnt done so yet.
5. already did a cold air intake.
6. already have a hight flow cat with a super 44 muffler, need to get a new muffler with single in and dual out and re route the piping that i did, side exit isnt a good idea. also need to make my own y pipe.
7. brakes...now i already installed stainless steel lines...pads...all that bs, i effing hate the brakes on this thing....soooooooo what im gunna end up doing is redoig everything....old abs system, old booster and master going.....im going to find myself a new booster and master cylinder and run the lines straight from there....if they can do it on a muscle car ill be damned i can do it on here...effing sick of looking at the abs light and not being able to stop worth anything and eating brakes like its cool.
8. a/c...idk if im going to tear it apart and try to fix it...or if im going to tear it out completly...but something is going to happen.
9. in its current state it doesnt run...why, idk yet but i know that i havnt dealt with the fuel filter or pump yet...what i can tell you is its not the plugs(i put in wrong ones anyways so those need to be switched....its not the ignition coil bc thats new...not the spotless injectors or spotless intake after removing and cleaning all that out...not the distributer...and so in.
10. going to drop and clean out the fual tank...never been done...probly a nightmare...withc clogged my filter...witch has never been changed so might i add ill be cutting and flaring some line
11. fix and paint the body....either hot rod red with a silver base or a yellow of some kind...underbody color will be determined when i decide the other.
12. had a decent fiberglass box that i made...i can do better, gutter all my extra sound, going t build something alot better this time around.
13....pull all interior carpet, clean what under it...dynamate...put carpet back in(its not bad amazingly

now im already into the process, however i can explain things backwards....if anywone would like a step by step on any one part let me know and i can take you through everything...its dark no so ill throw up pics tomarrow and show the world where im at.

ok so here we go have a whole lot torn off....waiting to pic some things up to get things moving a little faster as fa as restoring some parts and whatnot goes.....after inspecting the brakes a little further while i was tearing that off i noticed some of the lines were trash trash trash...only a matter of time before a small irritating thing became a huge problem....also i may add the amount of gunk in the master and also in the abs module when i went to spray it out to see what came out....so if you bleed your brakes again and again and still no better id replace your master if it shows any sign of black anything on the sides or bottom.

i forgot the mention....when you look at the last photo attached...you can see what appears to looks like calk going down the seem where the 2 panel meet.....guess they thought this was a good idea for sealing and bonding things....i dissagree....anyways what i wnated to say is take special care when welding anything around this stuff bc it burns easily....even alot of spark from grinding made this stuff smoke...so dont set your car on fire...youve been warned

ok..writeup first..pics in a minute. anyways i know its been a while since ive updated this but here we go..things that have been accomplished so far.
1. rear end removed and rebuilt...new bearings that DONT leak lol, overload shocks, new pads, everything cleaned up and shot with chassis saver(side not on that leave a little rust behind it sticks alot better to rust then completly cleaned up metal) new ujoints on the driveshaft also new ubolts because i had to cut off the old ones
2. brakes....everything new front he master cylinder on...stock pads and calipers etc but ran all my own lines from the MC back with all stainless steel braided lines and new hard lines to those..have 2lbs front and 10lbs rear residual valves and an adjustible valve for the rear....happy with some ares of line i ran...not so happy with others....reguardless i will say this....i actually have brakes..both front and rear...that work WAY WAY WAY better then when all the ABS bs was in there.
4. new fuel pump..old one died..witch gave me the reason to rop everything apart in the first place...if it wasnt for that i probly wouldnt have messed with everything..o well...thanks fuel pump
5. new high output alternator
6. new plugs wires cap rotor coil and everything else sitting right in that area
7. K&N intake installed
8. did the MFI upgrade with the injector because the old ones created problems...fixed the P0300 code i got when i got everything back together and running again( alot of swearing about this time when that code showed its ugly face) anyways those where AMAZING
9. tuned PMC...also made a huge difference
10. ran my own exhaust from the ypipe back with a highflow cat and a super 44 muffler....doesnt sound bad...but not what im looking for...will swap out later
11. chassis saver on the frame
12. i did the front end about mid summer but ill put it on here anyways....new shocks( will be switching with overload shocks later....new hubs...new and really beefed up balljoints and tie rods.
13. had to replace a fender from when i got hit...it was jacked up...easier to sand and paint then to try and fix it...plus im painting it anayways so who cares what color i found...btw the idiot that hit me only broke the stock tie rod...bent the aframe and messed up my fender and stock rim( new rims too btw) and it completly toltaled her car...if i ever find those pictures ill post them...serves her right for hitting a tank
14. as you can see im putting a plow on it...the front bumber has been reinforced under it with steel plate on the top and bottom along with the frame rails actually welded worth while unlike how it was done before...the brish guard will be welding directly into that and the front bumper/guard will all be one piece...also the bumper mounts have all been replaced with grade 8 bolts with the nuts welded in to reinforced plate where the holes use to be...in otherwords the front bumber will never move
15. roof rack is also in progress...alot of welding and placing of things still left to do on that...will hold spare tire up there along with lights in the front

for now i have to finish up fabing the rest the roof rack, finish fabing what i need on the plow and whatnot...prime paint etc...then we move to the interior! pictures posted below are from today when we set things in place to see how thigns would kinda look. enjoy...feel free to ask questions

not that annoy one seems to excited.... but i have the brush gaurd fabed up...changed out the cross bars for some beefed up pipe...welded in all my tabs for the motor and arm to mount too...got the tabs done on the a-arm mount at the bottom....everything hooked up....now just need to wire it up, throw some paint on it and hook up/check to see that the hydralics work as should...then on to finishing the roofrack and throwing on the lights up there....right now it squats kinda low so some overload shock in the fornt will help that alot
