so everything is hooked up and wired up...all hydralics work...all custom wiring went without and problems...however it seems there is some major flexing in the upper bumper mounts....soooo seems those will need to be boxed in for added support and to help with the flexing issue...some flexing isnt bad but there is more then id like to see. the front end also hangs down farther then i want but thats no big deal at all and can be solved easily with some overload shocks in the front...already have a set on the rear and they work great

Great thread sir - keep it comin'!

That thing is surprisingly clean in the nooks and crannies for the miles its got on it. Looks like you loved her.

Do you have a pic that gives a good view of how the hood is hinged before you took it off?

everything on the hood is stock. so its hinged on both fenders like any other s10 and the front latch is stock took...however i did have to a good cleaning of the front latch bc it was binding up hard with the grease that someone put on it. after i soaked it in gas and scrubbed everything off i sprayed it with some teflon dry chain lube and it slides around nicely. you still want pics of the stock mounts?

It's just that I'm planning on doing a tilt front clip in the spring and I'm trying to figure out if the hood is hinged to the fenders or the cowl. If you had a pic handy, no problem, but if you have to take one, don't worry about it. I just got to thinking about it when I was looking at how you boxed the frame in around the bumper mounts etc.

more pics and updates
-plow side all painted up as you can see..
- with plow of it sat alot lower then i would have liked it to....and while i can spend all day re-engineering the front end i just dont have the time or money otherwise i would(this will happen when i have another car and money..lol)soooo being i cant use helper springs bc id have to cut and hack **** that idea is gone....dont feel like swapping torsion bars...so i went with moving the bump stop....the stock ones on there i ripped off with my hands they were so dryrotted and the bolts both broke when i took them off.....so i cut some square tubing i had lying around in have and notched it as needed to give myself more spacing. so now when the plow is on the vehicle the control arms dont go above horizontal, it rest on the new stops...yes this may be stiff when i have it on but i have no intention of driving around everywhere saying hey im cool look at my plow......plus it also helps the front end geometry and will save my power performance balljoints...and all the other new stuff thats on there from breaking tomarrow. when i take everything off i still have enough travel to be happy.

-started up on the wiring as you can see below. being im a **** about hack jobs and splicing into power everwhere i ran a seperate pos and neg to the bus bars as you see.....so right now i have my CB, 4 lights and the power to the plow switch coming off that...plus room for more..fused where needed.....not sure yet bc my battery kinda sucks to begin with and i should probly throw in an optima or something....but i may be wiring in another battery...not sure yet what im going to do if i get crazy dimming and everything...and being i have a high output alternator installed who knows...see what problems i run into and go from there.

-pics on the hood as requested....self explainitory hope you get what you need from it
-as you can see everything is tidy enough for now as far as wiring under the hood goes

-NO MORE ABS....that thing made me so upset for so many reason.....new master cylinder and ran my own lines to everything, adjustable rear brakes...works way better then what i had, have ran into zero wiring issues when i removed evrything though however the abs light is still on.....so as soon as i find out what makes it go on its changing...

-also need to add you can see i got a pic of where the old turn signals went.....working on those now looking to be replaced with LED's

OOOOKKK.....sooo

1. roof rack turned out very nice and with color on it it looks normal and isnt way too oversized...ehhh not that heavy really...conduit (3/4") is amazingly stiff and does a fantastic job. running across the actual mounts i have some angle and another piece of angle running down the center where any decent weight would be at, like that spare. the spare isnt even heavy enough to make the conduit sage at all witch even suprised me. angle running from front to back makes a V channel from how its welded in....a huge both and a custom made wingnut is all it need to hold it down so there is no ugly straps sticking out anywhere.

2.the hole as you can see on the passenger side front mount is where the wiring enteres the vehicle. as you can see there is a plate under the sheet metal that holds the weight. hole is roughly between 3/4 and 1" in size to allow the CB antenna to pass through....may seem big but there is plenty on plate on the bottom size so structural integrity is still good. on the inside you can see where the wiring will enter the piller nicely, ran down and then under the carpet into the center counsol where all my new wiring is at for acc. and whatnot. if you plan on running a CB cable the same way i did there is a piece on the inside that needs to be cut out, ill snap a pic of that later. otherwise any wiring for lights will go through just fine.

3. light are from harbor frieght...greatest store ever. and 30 a pair they are SWEEEET. lights up the world...durable as ever...great buy and im very impressed with them. 2 inside light are on one switch and 2 outside lights are on another....3rd swith you see is to turn on power to the plow controller...witch is the bigger joystick you see.....being how everything is wired up come summer time it will be very very easy to throw on a winch in the front, power is already there with the quick connect....and then its just a matter of wiring up to use the joystick thats already there

4. unless im moving the plow up left or right there is no dim in the lights at all with everythign running...thank you beefy alternater dm244 or whatever it is i forget off hand...read above its there somewhere.

5. i love herculiner and how it looks

6. paint is probly going to be yellow to go with the black unless i order it online then it will be a red of some sort...candy apple red metallic.

7. rear isnt put back on yet but being im going to need some weight in the back the idea has been brought up to make a new steel bumper...think nerf bars...to plug into the rear hitch....fill it with sand and ill have some good weight for when im plowing and need more traction.

anything else let me know...body work starts this week then shooting some paint when that comes in....deal with the interior later
