!!!! that brutal biker guy is you??!?!?!?! DAMN!!!! anyways, its about time someone's done that thing with the MAF.... let me know how it goes.

 

I've said it before and I'll say it again, that screen serves a specific function and does not restrict flow as much as many people think it does. I haven't removed it on any s-series vehicles, but I have done it on an L67 motor (s/c 3800s2) with poor results.

Now that I did do myself and I would not recommend hacking it off completely. My '00 Bravada showed uneven AFR from the front of the engine to the back on each bank after a few thousand miles as evidenced by inspecting the spark plugs. I attributed this to an uneven distribution of EGR gases.

Also, it showed absolutely no improvement on 0-60 times as read by my scan tool. All it did was increase throttle tip in sensitivity. To read more about it, check out THIS THREAD (an oldie, but goodie from way back in 2006).
