Please post pics of this mod. I would like to free up a little power too.

WOW!!!! while i was absent for a few weeks last year (ok, it was more like 2 months) i missed a whole s**t load of posts in your build James.

i just spent the last 90 minutes reading through..............s**t! i don't know how many pages!!

personally, i can't see why you'd do it. i can't stand to see a sweet ride with the wheels/tires sticking out past the fenders, or flares if so equiped.

since your truck is a 2 door James, have you put any thought into getting a set of ZR flares for your truck? then you could put on a set of spacers, if you were so inclined. you'll also need those front fenders to mount them onto.

Love the extra power at part throttle and increased response is great. No codes. Pulled plugs - nothing out of the ordinary.
so besides the initial ooooOOOO! oh having a better bottom end, did you notice if it affected your mileage, under more normal driving conditions? (ie; not putting your foot init all the time)

as always James, awsome work, awsome detail in your posts. sure wish i had your piggy bank, now that i have the same amount of free time that you do.

the butterfly mod really doesn't free up any power at all, its more of an illusion. Less throttle is more throttle now, 1/2 throttle now becomes 1/4 throttle due to the opening for the air to get through being bigger and less restricted. I did this mod and thought the same thing, until I realized it was all an illusion.

so is it more like the effects of adding a better flowing exhaust (ie; muffler) to your truck.

the gains usually aren't seen due to the extra "playfulness" of the mod?

did it show any gains @ the pump, or was it all "in-your-head" so to speak?
