The 33x12.5 M/T's on my K5 suck in the slushy/slippery stuff at normal road speeds, but put it in fluffy snow and it's a tank.

But, I've also found myself slowing down to 30mph on the highway and letting people go by because it wants to float on that slippery slush.
that's what i figured James.

such a wide foot print would make it a bit of a bear on the slick s**t. must've been fun this morning, eh?!!

man was that stuff slick!

Just reading through some of the posts... wide tires are simply freaking AWSOME in deep snow, mud, crawling etc nevermind the stance/looks of them! But put them on slick hard packed snow, ice, slush &/or deep water & they want to go in their own direction. Not to mention uneven road surfaces, the kind where the tires have made depressions so the road is a really shallow "W"?! Yeah with the 33's on my blazer the truck would want to change lanes for me & at 40mph+ a few fancy words not to mention being red faced occasions happened.
Gas milage hurts with the 32" x 11.5"'s too.

As for the smug ZR2 owners LMAO I know! My LS sits about 2"-3" higher than a stock ZR2 now. At 1st (the blazer drivers that like to mod their vehicles, not the grocery go getter types I see all over) notice it, then look at it, then listen & take a good look & as I get nearer I can see something like depression fall over them. But quite a few look, give a nod as I do back. I even chased a couple down & we chat about blazers & I always tell people about this site.

Then there's the ranger, toyota, jeep, kia, honda etc owners... they couldn't care less about a blazer. It's always a smug pffft look - but I sure love pulling them out of a ditch or snowbank!
