I would suggest a lot of money and a lot of time.
Include a lot of knowledge in turbocharging, engine building, exhaust plumbing and fabrication.

You can buy a kit but most are scams or not worth what you pay unless you know what you are doing.
To give you some insight why I think this is neccessary:

THE TURBOCHARGER
Following questions arise to plan such a project:
  • What is the goal of the project? (Street, Track, serious or just find out if you can do it?)
  • How long shall that engine hold? (Just one pull on the dyno or be a daily drive?)
  • Turbocharger needs proper plumbing and we are talking a V-engine. How does the opposite side exhaust come to the charger? Bi-Turbo setup? Headers? Heat shielding? Oil and/or water supply to the turbocharger for the cooling. Electrical system modifications if needed. Vacuum and pressure hose routing and plumbing.
  • Which turbocharger? (Size, Type, Cooling)

AIR INTAKE AND PLUMBING
  • Air filter and plumbing to the turbo (ambient pressure) and surge valve returns to before the turbocharger.
  • Air plumbing under pressure, Intercooler, MAF, Sensors (pressure sensor min 2 bar), air box, manifold.

ENGINE INTERNALS
Depending on the aim of the power output:
  • Crankshaft and Mains
  • Rods
  • Pistons and rings
  • Valves
  • Camshaft
Some serious engine building goes into the compression ratio vs. cylinder head, vs. pistons, vs. camshaft
Depending on the supercharging pressure:
  • Stiffer valvetrain

FUEL SYSTEM
  • Fuel pump(s)
  • Pressure regulation system
  • Injectors or second set of injectors with ECU
  • Plumbing apt to handle the higher pressure and flow (also the return line)

ELECTRONICS
  • Sensors?
  • Programmable ECU either stand-alone or piggyback
  • Ignition? (Is it up to the task or do you need an aftermarket solution)
  • Harness(es) Including relays, maybe upgraded alternator and battery etc.

ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS
  • Vacuum reservoir for brake and appliances under boost
  • OIl and water, cooling upgrades.
  • Intercooler aerodynamic considerations (need flow through the radiator - therefore modification of the hood, body?)
  • Exhaust

The above is also valid for any kit you can buy. This will give you a far better idea if it is a scam or a kit that "might" work.

A little bit of my experience - and believe me given the time I would attempt a bi-turbo 4.3 V6. I work on naturally aspirated and turbocharged cars. Friends of mine are working on a drag strip BMW. The first setup took them 5 years to properly work. 4 engines later and (his information) 1500 man-hours later they push the 1000 HP limit. Both are trained mechanics, one is just finishing his Car-diagnostics school (2 years with exams) equivalent to at least a bachelor. Venturing into turbocharger terrain I would suggest an initial investment of 35$ into the following book:

Have fun turbocharging!

Now that's some comprehensive initial advice there!
Another great post by Error_401.

Сongratulations to the newcomer to the forum, as well as the newcomer himself. I design my own car, I make a military pickup, I will go hunting, all the things for 5.9 cummins intercooler upgrade I take here https://boostyourengine.com/5-9-cumm...ooler-upgrade/. as the car will be ready be sure to show a photo. Now it's still an intrigue.
