Default Resto/mod 1999 Trailblazer

Now that my inherited project is semi working order i figure i should post a build thread.

Current plans are to get the interior as close to looking like it just rolled off the lot in 1999, then start updating the trim, Externally i want to color match the chrome center strip and the mirror housings, swap the current halogen headlights and foglights for projection lense units (or fabricate my own) and overall clean everything up. Internally the front seat lowers need reupholstering along with the shifter and the sunvisors. Future plans are to add a brushguard, set of extra-low beams (borrowing an idea from BlazenReds build with the Corvette fogs), and an easily removeable CB/Satellite Radio system, not sure if i can get away with mounting alley lights in a similar fashion to the extra-lows by just saying they're roided up courtesy lights so you can see where your stepping around the vehicle

Master list of Initial repairs and issues left to do, What it took to get it running and moving is discussed throughout the first 4 thread pages or so -

Replaced the vacuum lines for the 4x4, PCV, and the vacuum hoses running to the Breater/EGR actuator down infront of the clutchfan, Now it idles consistently. Located a fuel leak in the process, Can anyone identify what line is bent? its on the drivers side of the fuelpump.

EDIT: It was a snapped spigot on the fuelpump, so i get to drop the tank it seems.

I've actually found most things with this truck to be straight forward, 6 hoses and 2 wiring harnesses, 2 strap bolts and the tank comes down.

Discovered a leak in the P/S cooler loop, 58 f*&^ dollars for a replacement! NOPE

that brings the total of leaking fluids to 3, OiL, P/S Fluid, Coolant.
This truck just wont let me love her. Also installed the hingepins and new bushings from a combination of dorman and needa kits yesterday which drastically reduced the amount of sag on the drivers door. the passenger side though it much more worrying as its straight up missing most of its bushing.

Haven't had much time to do much, but what i have gotten done revealed alot - that being an air leak, the whole reasoning and process for finding out was fairly anticlimatic and all took place in this thread. But the long n' short of it is there is a massive vacuum leak somewhere that only started after trying to rev the engine. and flooding it just a bit. So she's in for a whole lotta work once i have the time and for now is back in the garage due to issues with the county and a certain neighbor who dislikes anything thats not 100% clean and perfect. Will have more in about a week when i do all the upper intake job.

Upper intake gaskets are in, now it starts more then once but it still takes lots and lots of cranking, tomorrow i'm going to check all plug wires although i've gotten a feel for where they belong so im sure they're not crossed, and then block the throttlebody off with the MAF unplugged, see if it comes up any quicker. upper intake gaskets were really do for replacement as the old one was nearly 1/7th of an inch thinner then the new one.

She's right as rain now, replaced the ignition switch and the cap/rotor with all delco parts. Washed and waxed her today, in a few weeks will be ordering a bumper from LMC.
There is an oil leak from the bottom of the timing cover i've noticed, a pretty bad one too (about a quart of oil lost from just two short drives at a moderate angle down hill) so thats going to be "fun" to fix.

Putting a few miles on her now, last look at the odo read 222,319 and outside of poor running at low RPMs while cold she's in good shape. i need to start working on the body rust issues that are cropping up, big ones being the liftgate, rear drivers side rocker panel corner and above the passenger side rear cargo area glass.

Outside of the body she is very clean.
