Default want to build rollbar im a newbie

i want to buid a rollbar for my 84 k5,i guy i met said hell build it cut/bend/weld it all i have to do is supply material and pay him 20 bucks.pretty cheap labor cus he does it as a hobby, i got some people off craigslist that have material, but i dont know the quanity/diameter/wall thickness pheww..haha any help will be seriously appreciated
i want some thing like this i just want it protect the backseat

see what kinda dies he has for his bender. when i did my role cage i bought a bunch of 2 inch and no one had dies, everyone had 1 3/4 inch at the most. most common size of rollcages i have seen are 1 3/4 inch .120 wall DOM tube. but thats mostly on jeeps maybe 2 inch wouldnt be a bad idea for a k5

sounds like a good deal unless he screws it up lol

I agree, see what dies he has. Some of those things get way up there in price ($200+) so not everybody has all the sizes in stock. You don't want to buy a bunch of expensive DOM then on top of that have to buy a die.

The price is a hell of a deal.

thnks for the help, i think ill just go with 1 3/4 inch DOM
