It seems to be a charging system error code...

here are a few descriptions:
P1637 Generator-L-Terminal Circuit
P1637 Generator Lamp Control Circuit
P1637 Charging System Lamp Control Circuit

Hopefully one of the guys with access to the dealership database can help you out with the diagnosis steps. I don't have my reference material with me at work.

ok, i figured out part of the problem, coil wire kept it from starting, it was arching on the back end of the engine, i re-routed it, and she suddenly came to life(at the turn of the key) i re-checked for codes, none are showing up, and the lights are no longer flickering(earlier post)... now, how do i get the dist. cap off, to replace it..? anyone..? i may as well do the whole shot, its time anyway.

The distributor cap has two torx bolts holding it down. One at the front and one at the back of the distributor. IIRC, it's a T15 bit that should allow removal. One word of caution, the screws do not stay with the cap, they can be dropped and lost so be careful when installing the new cap.

I currently have my intake off my truck right now so the distributor is sitting on my work bench. I'll snap a pic of everything for ya if you want.
