Default 95 Blazer = OBDII (sometimes)

Here is a heads up to other 95 owners.

The SES light is on in my 95 Blazer. I took it to Autozone, Advanced and Pep Boys. They all told me the 95 uses the old OBDI and they couldn't read the code.

I finally talked to a buddy who works at a Ford dealer. He said he could read the OBDI codes for me. The connection is under the dash by the parking brake. After he looked at it, he went and got the OBDII reader and was able to read the codes for me.

So just because it is a 95, and the connection is under the dash, and the parts stores claim they can't read it, it doesn't mean it is an OBDI. Wish I had known this sooner. I almost bought a OBDI reader.

Yep. We've discussed the 3 different types of systems encountered on 95's depending on when during the model year they were assembled.
