Default 1986 Jimmy 350 Swap

I was wondering if the 4.3L transmission will work with a 350. I would like to have to 4X4 plus the extra power of the 350 for towing. PLEASE, can anybody help? If I can't use the stock tranny, please help with a setup to keep the 4X4. Thanks!!!!!!!

It will bolt up just fine. You may want to go through and do a performance rebuild to update the transmission with stronger components to handle the torque from the v8.

What type of components should I replace, note- the tranny is a 5-speedmanual.

Ah, now it being a 5-speed changes things a bit. Not sure how strong the 5-speeds are... You would probably need a new clutch at the least.
