Default 2nd gen to 1st gen swap s10 blazer

anyone ever swapped the engine and transmission from a 2nd gen s10 blazer to a 1st gen. I have a 94 s10 blazer with bad trans, and has no power at all it is gutless barely goes 70 it has a cpi motor in it. but i want to do a 2nd gen swap to it because of them having obd2 which is easier to find a problem than the obd1 that is in it now, it is 4x4 i can get a 98 model s10 blazer cheap because it is rusted out but motor and trans is good both are 4x4 blazers. would I just need to swap the motor, trans, harness and computer over to my 94 and it start up and run as is, and how would i get the headlights, signals and brake lights working like before? reason for this swap is because of having obd2 and has more support for mods, good trans and motor, cheap, have the donor vehicle. And my 94 has some wiring problems which may be the cause of it having no power. thanks to anyone who has done this before or knows where a forum has this topic already

You keep the headlights, turn signals and brake lights working by not altering that portion of the wiring harness. The 98 pcm gets "piggybacked" onto your existing harness. Only use the wires that the 98 needs to run.
