4.3 vortec rebiuld
Hi ALL
My 95 blazer is getting tired so I'm thinking of rebiulding. I would like to do more than just a stock rebiuld.
Any ideas what I can do to it to liven it up, with out throwing the computer off.
Thanx
Jason

I'd put PCM tuning into the budget of the rebuild. A mild cam, some porting, headers and a custom PCM would really wake up the 4.3L.

RE: 4.3 vortec rebiuld
How much would PCM tuning cost?
What would be a good cam to run?
What about boring it? Never heard of or know of anyone boring a 4.3
Deffinatly doing some port work.
Thanx
Jason

I was trying to think of where I had read about a 4.3L vortec buildup, but couldn't. Just dug out my HotRod Mags from the past few months and sure enough, there it is.
Good Find!
Looks like the best bang for the buck is the cam and porting, but man, these heads really do SUCK! 138/116-cfm baseline... ACCCH... Definitely in need of some 2.02"I/1.60"E valves like they did, but still didn't get anywhere near impressive flow numbers. The port work and valve grinding alone will set you back quite a bit.

The porting will be the easy part, I'll pull some favors owed and get them done for free. maybe the valve grinding to.
