Default fires up, no idle

so anyway I try to start my truck earlier today, was around -25*C and i had her plugged in. Turn the key, would fire right up, and then the rpm wouldnt even hold for a second, and it would die. Did this maybe 5 or 6 times trying different things, with nothing. Then I gave it one more shot and it held out [&:]

It did this same thing about a year ago also.....Also on cold startups without being plugged in right after it cranks i hear a loud, quick(less than 1/2 a second) grinding or "err!" only seems to do it when its cold.

Are these problems related to my starter, or "ignition control module/box" thingy?

battery and alt. are less than a year old.

ok the grinding kind of sounds like a bad starter clutch...maybe? not too familiar with chev starters--seems i only ever help replace my buddies' rice burner pull cords lol

try using a gas line antifreeze every few tanks--you might just be getting a bit of icing in your fuel lines....

another possibility would be fuel sending unit........but id try a .99 cent bottle first. lol
