How long did you leave the cable hooked on?

Did ya have the right polarity?

Where did you connect your ground leads?

Was the flux capacitor in proper alignment?

If the cables were smoking, then chances are you had something wired backwards, and probably toasted the battery... Which shouldn't have died in only 30 minutes to begin with...

no it was wired properly unless they changed the red=pos black=neg. the ground was on a bold that is at the end of the fuse box that is under the hood and that was when it started smoking. the battery is fine now and it runs fine but the windows , locks, radio doesnt work....

Which wire started smoking?

And you should never use a fuse box anything for ground when boosting, use a bolt on the engine, or the lift hook on the engine.

I know on my Blazer, there's a wire that goes INTO the fuse box, and that is a POS lead, even though the wire is black.

There is no real place to boost my Blazer, other than the battery and a convenient grounding point, I haven't seen under the hood of a Trailblazer, but probably close to the same thing...
