Default Good electric conversion kits?

Haven’t seen anyone talk about this and hopefully this doesn’t offend anyone lol cause I know many love their 4.3 vortecs or swaps etc.

Gas is not really going to get much cheaper as oil is a non renewable resource and projected to be depleted by 2060.

so I’ve asked myself “can I convert into an EV?…surely if LS swaps are possible right?”. I did my little research and found out that GM wants to produce an EV crate motor retrofit kit which sounds like it’s gears to keeping classics alive but again anything is possible. But it’s frustrating because I haven’t found much of what works.

If I can of course keep 190hp or higher thatd be great especially realizing that with an EV conversion the vehicle would shed at least 250lbs.

has anyone hear converted, thinking of it, got kits/set ups in mind?

When I was in school they told us we would be out of oil in the 80's................

S10 Forum had a thread on this exact subject.. I never really paid much attention but it might be worth looking at.

let’s assume we have another few hundred years of oil to make fuel.

the fact is that it’s still not renewable meaning as it gets more scarce the cost will still rise significantly in the next few decades as it already has. I’m not here to promote green. I just want to avoid being forced into high gas prices and as a bonus push the boundaries of my vehicle seeing what I can modify it to be as all of us car guys like to do.

gonna be honest, even if oil/gas was unlimited, I’d still try my hand at an EV conversion

Not interested in the discussion here, you do you and I'll do me. Like I said there is a thread on the other forum.

I know I've seen things here and there about proof-of-concept kits and such, but I've never actually seen it done. It's definitely something I'd be curious to see though. Especially if it could be done reasonably economically.

For 30 grand, you can buy a Tesla crate motor. Add another 20 grand for a battery and related parts, and you have a $2k truck that only cost you $50k.

guy I just wanted help to be pointed in the right direction. I obviously can’t find what you’re talking about. Besides that if you were so disinterested you could’ve ignored my post.

There’s a huge low key rumor that electric crate motor kits are available from $5k-$10k. GM was supposed to come out with it but no luck with that. But there has to be other manufacturers that have things available
