Default New Spider?

Has anyone installed a new style fuel injecting spider, the kind with the wire going to the ends of each fuel port?

I did last fall when I replaced the intake manifold gaskets.

Did not notice much of a change in fuel economy. The truck did run a bit smoother, but I did other work around that time... new distributor, wires, plugs, etc... so it's hard to say. I'm glad I replaced it though.

It's not a difficult job, but be sure you follow the instructions. The tubes need to be routed a particular way, like the distributor firing order.

peace

.

My dad used to fill the tank up when he was driving it (it's now mine and he never drives it).

he would fill the tank up from the empty or 1/4 position and reset the trip meter.

Then, when it got back to where he filled it up from, he would just divide the mileage with the price of gas or the gallons of gas and figure the gas mileage that way.

He said it was averaging 22mpg.

I never fill it up, so I have no idea.

Fuelly says it gets about 15-20 mpg.

I ALWAYS keep it at 1500 rpm. Other than the 2000-2500 jump to get it to 45, at which point, it shifts into 4rth and I can cruise at around 48 with the engine going only 1500 rpm.

His new envoy 2005 has a fuel economy calculator. I want one...
