in line 6 into a blazer??
i have a 94 blazer that we use for snowmobile trail grooming, and the 4.3 is getting a little weak. has anyone ever put in a chev inline six cylinder motor in one of these trucks? is it tough to do, and how did it turn out? thanks. foodtown@sasktel.net
The problem with the newer I6 engines is their length and height. The I6 has 2 extra cylinders to add to its length and because the cylinders are vertical, the overall height of the engine is taller as well.
With that said, small block v8s have been swapped into the s-series platform many, many times with great results. Being a '94 and what I can assume is offroad use, you could do a carb'd v8 swap and have plenty of power.
If you are interested in a v8 swap, the place to check out is JagsThatRun.com. They quite literally wrote the book on s-series v8 swaps.
