truck has 146,000 on it, the gaps are huge and the center electrode is pointed. Truck was skipping every once and a while. Runs great now

I can relate!

Did the plugs in the wife's car yesterday. What I pain in the A! Luckily all went well and none broke on me.
And the power has been restored

I have video to lol

look like v8 ford plugs... 4.6 or 5.4l

have a buddy that works for a ford dealer, he says if you use an air impact to pull the plugs out they very rarely break. with the power from the intial hit on the plug pops it loose and keeps it from breaking. havent tried it (dont have a ford v8 and its not time for plugs in my Edge yet.. )

That's exactly right desert they are only in the 3 valve engines. It's really sad that Ford has to make an 11 page service bulletin about removing spark plugs and then patent a tool for removing the end of it when they break off! I just cracked them open about a 1/4 turn and then dumped a bunch off sea foam in there and let them sir about an hour and slowly worked them back and forth to make sure nothing was hanging up.
