Default oil pan choices

ok...so I have to replace the rod bearings on my 2.8. I want a high flow oil pump, but I dont want to empty the pan lol. I am thinking about getting this: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/HAM-1099/

I was wondering if it was worth the extra money. My blazer is a 4X4, and while I wont be abusing it constantly, I will be taking it on some wicked trails once in a while.

Is anyone running a deep sump pan? Was the upgrade worth it? ( I dont want to hear about swapping the engine or anything lol)

The D day is tomorrow. I am taking the bottom end apart saturday, and only have tomorrow to get the pan (yes I'm taking the bus to get parts for my blazer haha) I can only have it apart for a day at the most, 2 if Im lucky.....

nevermind...i just saw the application sheet.....v8 only....

is there a deep sump oil pan available for the 2.8?

There is not a deep sump pan for the 2.8 and you really don't want a high flow pump in it either. With the way the drain back is on these engines you will create an oil starvation issue.
