Please help...
Having sum engine trouble. It will turn over but wont start up. The engine is getting good spark. The fuel pump is kicking on and building pressure. Thought maybe it was a dirty fuel filter. Well it was filthy but changed it out with a new one and it still wont start. Its not the fuel realy as like i said the fuel pump turns on. I'm at a loss at this point. If i give it sum gas through the trottle body it will run for a couple secs then of course die again. Like i said, at a loss at this point, the fuel pump is brand new as of last year, the fuel filter is now new, there is fuel pressure, and the realy must be good. The truck was running fine until it just died on me when i pulled into a spot at the gas station last week. Its a 97 S10 Blazer 4.3L V6 2door. Its my daily driver and now i'm hurting, anybody have any thoughts or help would be great. Thanks

RE: Please help...
possibly a clogged or broken line? take both ends of the line off and try to blow through it---anything beyond that--bad injectors?

RE: Please help...
lines clear and its throttle body injected(tbi). this has really got me stumped.

RE: Please help...
have someone crank on it while your under the hood seeing if the injector is firing. If its not pos. bad injector, wiring, or computer. It is def. a fuel problem.

RE: Please help...
this sounds like what just happend to me yesterday. the engine started to crank but wouldnt turn so my dad took a hammer to the gas tank while i tired to start it and it fired right up turns out my pump was trying but not getting enough to the motor. after it started it restarted with no problems. I had it replaced to day except 640 dollars for just the fuel pump no labor. if ur a gm employee 314

RE: Please help...
Yea, thats an old trick. When the fuel pump dies hit the tank with a hammer and your get a few more starts usally. My fuel pump does kick on tho and builds fuel pressure. Its new as of last year, i was quoted sumthing like 350 from advanced auto, but opted to buy a new one off ebay, still acdelco part, for sumthing like 180 shipped. At this point it needs hooked up to a computer to get codes and have a shop kick the tires and find out whats wrong. There goes another part of the my army bonus.
