Default Possible engine swap?

Would it be possible to swap my 4.3 to a 2.2 out of a cavalier? My truck is a automatic if that is of any information. I'm 15 and wanna do it because of fuel prices!!! I've got a year to get it swapped so don't worry. What will I need to do the swap? 1996 GMC Jimmy

Wink

I would not do this. here's why. the 2.2 would do so much work trying to move the jimmy that the fuel mileage would suck-big time. the 4.3 is barely big enough to move the truck. this is why they did not offer a 4 banger in the suv's only in the pick-up's, they are much lighter. if you want something that gets 30 mpg you picked the wrong truck, but you want to get around in snow and sh*t congrats!!you picked a winner!! just keep it tuned up and tires inflated properly and you should get 18-21 mpg. good luck I hope this helped

It doesn't really snow in Vancouver so that sucks but I guess with a few mods it could do OK fuel mileage. A turbo would probably be a lot less and a lot more fun
