Whats everyones running temp or the coolant/engine in the 4.3?

I've been running @ 190 with a 195 tstat.

what temp do you all think this is? too low?


my blaze has ran this temp since i got it. have a new therm, just havnt put it in.

That pic is exactly what my blazer is running at.. it never goes higher than that.

do you ever notice a pre ignition type rattle ?

nope no noises..The strangest thing about the starting of my blazer is , when ya barely turn the key to start it it starts right up with no cranking almost..Maybe its the $180.00 battery i have in it from Sears...

Well that pretty much where mine is too unless im sitting in traffic than it will go to 210 and stay there

haha same here, i dont even hear my starter turn over. just barely tap the key.

im wondering if maybe my temp is the cause of my pre ignition rattle, ive done everything else to make it go away.

I recently changed the thermostat in my blazer because i saw it was only running like 2 lines up from 100, thought maybe the spring was weak and opening too soon, I was getting 20 Mpg then, after I changed the thermostat and now its running right up at 195 I am pushing 24, so as stated above if your blazer is running too cool it will be in open loop all the time.. open loop is the default program in the computer in which to run, in that mode it does not rely on information from the sensors to adjust air fuel ratio, etc
