What's up board

I am in a bit of a fix, indeed, it seems. My Blazer is pretty much beyond reasonable repair for the KBB, etc. I am driving a jeep now, and I have arrived at the conclusion to salvage it just to get it off my yard. My driveway around my house is an upside down "L". on the vertical part of the "L" is an awning, which makes it difficult for many wrecker vehicles to access. That's a bit of an issue, as well as the fact that I believe I accidentally tossed out the key with some trash. It was a hell of a time, I was moving, etc, I pretty much fkd that up. The car is out of battery, with a flat tire, and I can resolve those couple of things, but as far as getting it into neutral I don't know how it can be done without turning the motor. A wrecker I had take a look at it pulled the hell out of the shifter and now it does go from PRND21 freely but it's not in neutral where the wheels can move.. So I don't know what that did. Can I use a jack to jack it up on a trailer somehow? I think the back wheels spin but the front wheels don't as is.. due to the parking lock being on. Anyway there's no extreme rush to have this done but I thought I'd stop by here to get some ideas because it's extremely hard for me to get someone with knowledge over here to look at this while I work 50+ hours a week. Anyway I seriously appreciate any perspective and info that can be learned here.

If I understand you are stuck in park? Block the wheels and jack it up, place stands under it and crawl over to the transmission. Disconnect the shifter linkage on the side of the transmission, shift it out of park. Your steering wheel will still be locked, I would assume. I don't know if you are on concrete or not. You can jack the front up with a floor jack and steer with it slowly. If no concrete I have used plywood. Get a bunch of buddies to push it out with you. I have done this and it works but be careful.

That's not a bad hint, I read a little bit about transmission linkage.. I get the gist of it although I've never really seen a transmission or a linkage I have no experience with it, it shouldn't be terribly difficult. What is it a nut I have to turn?

Also I saw on Youtube a guy essentially hotwired it I was thinking of doing that also. What do you think of that process?

Do I have to disconnect the linkage before I try this, or is this something that can be done without having to mess with that? If I understand right, the rear wheels will turn, but the front won't, so if it's jacked up can it be pushed out? Or would it be much easier just to disconnect the transmission linkage and go from there

disconnect linkage, shift to neutral, all four tires will roll, steering wheel will still be locked so you will not be able to steer it inless you pull steering wheel to undo the locking mechanism so hence the reason for the floor jack so you can support the vehicle off the front tires

Small lever on side of transmission, once disconnected you can move it. It is spring loaded over a ball bearing so takes a little effort. Make sure your wheels are blocked so it might want to roll when taken out of park. Probably not, but why chance it. Also you might have to put a large crescent on lever to get it out of park.
