Can you, or your relative, answer the above for us?

Meanwhile, the thing that's bothersome with all of this is that the problems you're having all seem to have started right after you repaired a return fuel line leak and replaced the fuel filter (unless I'm mistaken). Could be a coincidence, but you have to wonder if something didn't go right with those two repairs. Maybe the new fuel filter had some loose 'particles' in it that fouled the injection system? Or, is it possible that some rust or dirt, etc, made it's way into the system when you changed the fuel filter? Even the smallest bit of rust or dirt introduced downstream of the filter can foul the injection system.

Is there some kind of restriction in the return fuel line? This would cause fuel pressure to be high and engine to run rich. Also could cause it to leak somewhere, as you mentioned in your original problem. Also could damage the fuel pressure regulator. What I don't understand is your description of fuel pressure bouncing 40-80, and what you obtained for the fuel pressure testing (4 values) per the sticky at the top of the 2nd gen forum.

I would hate to replace the injection spider on a hunch. It's pretty expensive to play musical parts as a diagnostic strategy.

Yep, an ounce of diagnostics is worth a pound of dollar bills and parts. I'd pursue LesMyer's restricted fuel return line thoughts before you change out any more costly parts.

Another question would be; where in the fuel return system did you make the leak repairs?

With the new pump the fuel pressure is where its supposed to be he just said its still running rich we replaced the return line right there by the filter and my uncle thougt there was a restiction in return line so he ran a new return line with nylon fuel line
