Red face '02 Blazer Check Engine Light on, won't go past 55 mph - HELP!

My check engine light recently came on & now my truck won't go over 55 mph. There's some noise near the Catalytic Converter area & when I took it to get plugged in I had 2 codes come up - 1 was about the MAF sensor & the other was about the Catalytic converter. Is there an easy fix for this?? How will I know exactly WHAT I need to have done?

It's hard to answer without knowing what the exact code numbers were, but start with this thread - How to: MAF Sensor Cleaning - DISCUSSION THREAD. The noise from the cat probably is the burnt out and broken up insides that have plugged it (and perhaps the muffler) up. If that is the case, it will have to be replaced.

Here are the code listings:
P0101 - Mass Air Flow System Performance
P0420 - Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 1)

I would definitely recommend cleaning the MAF before going to any other more expensive options.

As far as the catalytic converter goes, if it's making noise, it will only get worse and could potentially leave you stranded somewhere.
