The 700r4 is a very, very common transmission.

Should be able to find them on scrap yard's or pull yourself places. Can be found in all sorts of vehicles from car's to trucks from about 1982 to 1990. Obviously if you pull one, you will not know if it is running fine.

As you have not stated the reason for pulling your transmission it's hard to tell if rebuild or repair.
Serious rebuilds with warranty cost some 3'000$, but depending on the issue your's is having, and the overall condition of the Blazer, that may be the way to go.

It's an all hydraulic transmission, therefore all the 4L60E would not work. A 4L60 may fit but not sure! (AFAIK they used the same casing dimensions.) But would probably need some fabrication for the controls.

4L60 needs electronics to shift it. Someone had a drag racing conversion kit, I dont recall who.. Google is our friend (when its not spying on us)

700R4 is the same trans as the 4l60, In late 93 they came out with the 4l60E which is computer controlled. You need to find one from 87-92 they have the 30 spline input shaft. Anything earlier will have a 27 spline input and the 87 up TQ converters will not work. You will need one from either a 4.3 V-6 or a V-8. They are the same transmission. If you get one from a Camaro or Firebird you will need to change the tail housing. A 700r4 will have M8 on the side of the casing. A "K" Casing is a heavy duty 4WD casing for 4WD, but GM used that casing in a lot of vehichles that werent 4WD, Infact my tranny was a factory "K" casing. A 'V" casing is a Corvette case. The case from an S10 and a Camaro or Firebird both have the ears on the sides cut off and take a special Dust cover, The ears are cut-off so the tranny will fit in the Transmission Tunnel. I didnt see it until now But I see your in Aalbama. There is a good transmission shop in Enterprise called TransTech. I have ordered Parts from them in the past. If they are still open Check with Jeff If I remember correctly. He is real helpful. Greg
