Default 1993 Jimmy 4x4 4l60e leaks out of front seal

It appears to be pouring fluid out of the front of the transmission where it joins the torque converter. How much damage am I looking at? Is it likely just a seal, or should I suck it up and start ripping apart the drivetrain of my '92 parts car?

Well your going to have to drop the trans to get at it.Then your looking at the poissibilty of 2 seals that can be bad.The front seal around the shaft of the trans or the front pump seal.Good luck your in for alot of fun.

Hah, the clutches were cooked, so now I'm in the process of getting the transmission from the '92 put in. Have you ever tried to talk a transmission shop through replacing a 4l60e with a 700r4? Fun stuff.

"but the connectors don't match up" /facepalm

It's a bolt-on swap. Just add a TV cable and ignore the transmission codes. If you want to get fancy, wire the lockup solenoid to a switch on the dash.
