About a week ago I was driving my car when it suddenly started sputtering and driving almost like it was out of gas this stopped and I left it alone. The next day the same thing happened, and to overcome the sputtering I accelerated faster and it was no longer noticeable. (This is mainly happening once the engine heats up) Now it is terrible, I cant drive a half mile without it bucking with acceleration and dying at a low idle while in drive at a stop sign. I have been driving it to test things that I have fixed which have not fixed the problem yet.
I have replaced these things:
Spark Plugs, Spark Plug Wires, Distributor Cap, Distributor Rotor, Throttle Position Sensor, MAP Sensor and the Fuel Filter. I have cleaned/checked the EGR valve, Idle air valve, vacuum lines electrical connections, fluids, and inside the intake plenum where it seems clean (no broken/leaking lines).
I feel like I have done everything possible, but I know there are a couple more sensors I could change, and possibly change the fuel injector/pressure regulator.
Whats next? Has anybody had something similar happen?
Thanks

Hello Team,
I finally got my dad's Jimmy to stop from sputtering when accelerating. After several months of searches and replacing parts. It was the sensor that connects to the cat converter. I had replaced the fuel pump, check the fuel pressure, some mechanics had indicated that it was a defective spider but it wasn't, it was a simple sensor on the cat. I unplugged the sensor and the car worked fine. UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hope this helps all with this issue.
Regards
Juan

here is what I found with my 2001 blazer ls
4.3L I changed plugs , wires, cap rotor, all sensors and still a sputtering and jerking, come to find the xp autolite Irridium plugs SUCK for chevy, i reinstalled Acdelco professional and used bellden wires from nappa and guess what no more jerking, i did notice the electrode is longer on the acdelco plugs than that of the autolite... also no idle stalling out, this is because I forgot to connect the tube back to the air intake I think its the pvc tube not sure the correct name, connected it and idle is good again and drives great! if this hose gets air it will make you want to throw the vehicle away! If a fuel pump issue only use ACDelco or Delphi . otherwise you will be chasing a problem, if you here your pump buzz then your pump is working, but check the pressure! Idle could be your air idle control theyre cheap on amazon, only two screws to install, first clean with carb n choke cleaner! Want a better idle and more responsive throttle look into cutting the restrictor out of your throttle body, you will see it attached to the blade, pull your blade out of throttle body cut off flange edge with hacksaw smooth edge reinstall wow great idle and terrific low end power now! DON'T TRUST NEW PARTS SOMETIMES THEY DON'T WORK OR WRONG EVEN THOUGH YOUR AUTO HOUSE SAYS YEAH THEY WORK! AUTO LITE PLUGS XP IRRIDIUM ARE JUNK FOR CHEVY SO ARE LOTS OF WIRES ON THE MARKET! i HATED THE FACT OF REDOING ALL THE TUNEUP CAUSE OF BAD NOT COMPATIBLE PARTS! USE THESE GREAT ONES! ACDELCO PROFESSIONAL PLUGS YEAH $40+ AND NAPPA BELLDEN WIRES ITEM#700540 $85+ YEP THEY WORK GREAT! USE CAUTION ON THOSE CRAZY CAPS! THE FACTORY ONES ARE BEST ACDELCO OR DELPHI $45+ Just an FYI the Mass Air Flow Sensors go out really easy in these vehicles if not handled with care ! Oxygen sensors go bad but they don't relay information to how the engine runs these are for emission purposes! But the one going to the Cat is important!

I'm having the same problem just got my fuel pump, fuel filter replaced $550.00. Ran ok for one day and now when I accelerate its sputtering and jerking and struggling to get up hills, I have a 98 4dr blazer bringing it back to the shop today.

Wow..my 94 V-6 Blazer started sputtering and shaking in idle recently. I tried a medium acceleration and the engine made a "pop" sound...misfire, I assume. Its at the garage being looked at? Anyone think its serious? 109000 miles! It seems to be holding back and restraining itself on the highway...I'm so upset. Any thoughts?

Had Spark plug wires replaced for $125. They were sparking! Blazer doesn't misfire anymore..but it still doesn't run like before the problem started. They want to change the plugs..another $100+ but after reading this forum, it might not fix it. I can live with the 50% improvement...since I've dumped $$$ into this money pit! No more 4.3 V-6 for me! Rear main seal is leaking bad also. Its at least a $500 fix! Wahhhh!

I am having the same issue and have had my 99 Blazer ZR2 in the shop many times but when the diagnose the computer, they come up with nothing wrong at all. It seems to only happen when it's cold outside and the mechanics think I am nuts. Any ideas at all as to what this could be. I have heard something about the 'spider' fuel injection systems having issues....
