1995 Jimmy no fuel pressure
I have a 1995 Jimmy that was sitting in a garage for a few years. A new battery got it to crank. After that it needed a new fuel pump because, A) it wouldn't start and B) when I dropped the tank just a little to check the feed hoses off the pump, one of them rusted apart!
After the fuel pump it starts, after a while, but run very rough and idles all over the place or simply stalls. I get a blinking engine light and turn it off.
I am getting NO fuel pressure at the rail. I dug in and replaced the fuel regulator, NOT the entire spider. Same situation. The fuel is getting to the intake then simply heading back in the return line. No pressure is building at the intake. I'm still wondering how it even starts.
I know there is an electric component to the spider, but I'm not sure of its function. Do I need to replace the entire spider or should I be looking elsewhere?
Note: I did NOT buy a Delco fuel pump, just whatever they had at the local chain store.
