i have a 97 chevy with the 4l60e transmission and im trying to figure out the problem that occured out of nowhere. my truck was running fine with no problems then in the blink of an eye when i start to accelerate it seems sluggish like im starting in 2nd gear. then i noticed that the rpm or the speedometer guage wasnt working. i changed all 5 solenoids in the trans, the oil and filter. the guages work now (somehow) but it still seems sluggish when i go to take off. im not sure if its the torque converter and have no clue as to what LOCK UP means. somebody please help me figure this out before i waste more money

this seems to come up from time to time but no one really has a answer. my 93 was doing that too, starting off in 2nd gear. i rigged mine by running direct power to the solenoids so i had first gear back as thats all i use cause its a off road truck. but basically what it came down to was the computer was not sending the proper signals to the solenoid. so weather it was a bad computer, or not no idea. try getting the truck scanned and see if there are any trans codes, i had a ton of them
