Default 1997 blazer 5 spd engine swap tips ?

I have a 1997 5spd blazer 2 door and I was wondering if there is any difference with the manual and the auto trannys besides everything behind the flex plate.
I have done a swap on my 1995 blazer and know what I am doing just someone told me for a 5 spd you have to disconnect the whole engine mount from the frame side and it would be easier has anyone heard this or have any tips I am buying a jasper longblock so it should be a straight forward swap

I'm guessing you are going from a 5 speed manual to a 4 speed automatic. You will need a radiator that has a tranny cooler, tranny fluid lines to go from the tranny to the radiator, you need to rewire things to get your reverse lights to work, you need to do some more rewiring for a neutral safety switch, if it's an electronic transmission you need a computer reprogram, and you need to work in an automotic transmission mount.

Okay, I didn't quite undertand your first post. As you know the manual transmission has a flywheel, clutch, and pressure plate. There is a splined shaft coming from transmission itself that is meshed in with the clutch, you should be able to remove the engine like you would with automatic. Just unbolt the tranny bell house like the automatic, and make sure you can pull the engine forward enough to clear that splined shaft.

You may have remove the transmission later to reinstall the engine.
