1997 Chevy Blazer ls 4 door trans swap
I dont have an answer for you but I was wondering if your standard trans is ok in the blazer?
I ask because I just bought a 96 Blazer and was wondering if there is problems with this trans in general. My blazer has 115000 miles on it, runs fine and everything but not to sure if tranny and motor are good enough to pull a 4400lb camper?

the motor should have enough power to pul the camper, but idk about the trans. mine has 129k miles on it, and it just started slipping between 1 and 2 gear. ive never had good luck with automatics anyway, so i wanted to convert it to manual to 1) give me better mileage, and 2) not have to worry about the auto giving me any more problems.
is it a column shifter or a center console shifter? the center console has one issue that can become very annnoying: the key sometimes gets stuck in the off position. itll start up fine, but you'll have to wait a few minutes to take the key out. also check the trans fluid. the 4L60E that comes with it can be temperamental sometimes. i have 129k miles on mine, and those are the only 2 issues. as i said, the key issue can be annoying, but ONLY if its a center console shiofter. the column shifter has no such problems.
