I have a 1997 Chevy Blazer that I want to run dual alts in. It is actually already setup to do this but I would like to run dual alts and keep the A/C. I need the power for my sound system, I have a guy that builds the brackets but I am curious how to install it because of the A/C lines that are on the passenger side of the engine.

Man it sounds like your gonna install 2 1000 amps ha?It`s really not neccesary to hook up 2 alternators just for a high powered stereo system. What other power sources are you running besides a high powered amp and or amps?Do you have a winch, roof rack lights?I`ve never seen or heard anyone having 2 alternators on a s10/s10 blazer before.I`ve only seen a military style Chevy Blazer/scottsdale long bed pick up that had 2 alternators. If you just have a amp to worry about..You can replace the alternator you have now, with a much more high powered alternator. You should post some pics on this matter, that way we can see what your working on.usually when you have 2 alternators, you will need to have 2 batteries also.

If you have a source for a custom 2nd alternator bracket that keeps the factory AC, then they should have pictures of the setup and a description of how to install it. You might end up having to have custom AC lines made to reroute them out of the way.
