Default 1998 Blazer Transmission question

I just changed the transmission filter and fluid in my 1998 Blazer. I did by the book. Now when pulling out from a dead stop it delays and does not seem to being starting in first. When I manually shift it , it runs fine. Please Help..

What does it do during this delay? Engine rev up, but no forward movement? Engine bog down?
