Default 1998 gmc jimmy transfer case vacuum switch elimination

I just installed a 6" lift and i have the transfer case input seal leak. I'm about to drop the trans case to reseal. I am converting from the vacuum actuated front diff, to the manual cable activated. My question is if I can abandon the vacuum transfer case switch all together? Do i leave the switch in place and just remove the vacuum lines, or do i remove the switch and plug the hole? Thanks in advance.
