1999 Oldsmobile Bravada 4.3 Ticking After 3 Minutes.
My Bravada has started ticking yesterday. I pulled into a parking lot and heard it. I immediately checked the oil and it was right at the fill line. I babied it home and let it sit for the night. Earlier today, I started it up. There was no ticking at all for a good three minutes and then it came back! I’ve been doing research but I’m not finding anything but others that have had the same mysterious tick. When I was driving it, there also wasn't any noticeable loss in power. I also couldn't really hear it ticking even with the windows down.
Update
I went out and started it up. Again, no ticking for a few minutes and then it came right back. It sounds like it's coming from the passenger side. Anyways, the video can be found at the link below.
I took it to a mechanic and was told that it spun a rod bearing. I'm taking it to another mechanic to get a second opinion. I will update when I know more about the problem.
