Default 1999 ZR2 Timing.

Hello All,

I was wondering if someone could help me out, on the 1999 ZR2 4.3 vortec is it a timing belt or timing chain? if its a chain there is no need to replace it right? If its a belt my car has just run 100,000 KM would it be due?

Its running really well at the moment, and I dont want to get rid of the car, but a timing belt would cost me almost the value of the car.

Also at 100,000 what would anyone else recomend be done to the car in preventative maintenance?

Any help is much appreciated.

Peter

You have a timing chain, not a belt.

The question has been asked many times about what maintenance one should do when the vehicle in question is reaching XXX,XXX miles/kms. A quick search should find you what you are looking for.
