2000 Blazer wont shift automatically

Thanks swartlkk, it worked!
It definitely was the solenoid. Looked like whoever got into the pan last forced the pan on and broke one of the solenoids. I actually almost did the same thing, but instead, ended up dropping the cross-member out of the way and presto, I had easy access! Now I just have to figure out why it goes into 4 wheel by itself! Thanks again all.

Someone let me know that since this Blazer will not shift automatically that it is likely the solenoid in the tranny. I went to buy both of them from the shop today and the guy advised me not to just go switching solenoids because it is not likely to be the problem???? I found a set on ebay for only 30.00 Could it hurt to drop the pan and switch out the old ones for these new ones? Thanks in advance.

It backs up the consensus on the subject if you do a google search
Shows no matter what the cred of the guy you ask, back that up with your own research that makes sense to you.
