Unhappy 2001 blazer locked in 4lo

I put my blazer in 4lo tonight and can not get it to shift back out. I have no lights on the auto buttons, it has auto 4, 2hi, 4hi, 4lo and the service 4wd light came on . Checked the fuse inside and it was good, when I checked the fuse under the hood it was blown, When I tried to replace it . it popped the minute I put it in. Put a jumper wire in and the lights came back on but could not get it shift out of 4lo. Any suggestions would be appreciated you guys have come through for me before. Don't want to have to take it to the dealer. I am in upstate New York and will need my 4wheel working soon.
I have been looking through the forum but am trying to figure out why the fuse keeps blowing
and where to go from here.
Thanks Chevy Lady, not a mechanic ,but not afraid to try.

Let me apologize now if I am not posting this correctly pretty new to this stuff but have found lots of great advise on this sight over time. Thanks Again

Can someone tell me what may be causing the fuse to continue to blow?

Have the lights been burned out on the switch for a while, or is that something new?

ok i just had a about the same problem with mine, u need to check ur encoder motor, if i was u i would just unplug it from the tranfer case. check the plug from the truck, 4 of the wires should have 5 volts. its held on bye a 8 mm bolt. put the fuse back in, if it doesnt blown then its proubly the problem. i would never just put a jumper wire in the fuse box for anything ur gonna ffire something bye doing that,

Need to lose that jumper wire as soon as you can, there is a reason for the high current causing the fuse to blow. Having that wire could cause you more problems electrical wise.
