Last night I was driving my 1996 chevy blazer, 4.3L v6. I was on the interstate doing about 65mph. Out of nowhere my rpm's jumped to between 5 and 6k, then the truck shut off. I pulled off the side of the road and tried to crank it. It struggled to turn back on but it did and there is the loud rattling coming from the engine now. It seems to drive fine but seems a little less power now getting up to 2nd gear, after that there is no noticeable problem other than the rattle. When I come to complete dead stop my oil pressure drops to the point that it wants to stall out but catches itself and stays running. I was thinking I blew a piston or something along those lines. I started it up this morning and the noise was no where near as loud but still there and I am guessing that is because the engine was cold. Could someone give me some advice on this?
