2001 Blazer won't turn off until brake pedal released
for the past few days, my Blazer will not turn off until I take my foot off the break pedal. I turn the ignition off, remove the key and the engine will continue to run until I take my foot off the brake pedal. I also noticed that when I first get in now and put my foot on the brake pedal, the full instrument cluster comes on along with the headlights. I think it is no wonder the Service Engine Soon light has now come one. Hopefully after reading the computer codes this will point me in the right direction. Has anyone had this problem and can point me in the right direction for repairs?
Computer codes will not help. You have a short in the brake switch wiring somewhere. If you've done work on the car recently and this anomaly id somewhat related to that time period, check in the area you were in at that time.
