Default 2002 blazer security light and noise problem

I have a 2002 2 door blazer ls s10 and last week this problem started where the security noise and light comes on every time the drivers side door opens when the engine isnt on and the key is off, usually its quiet like any other car but since last week its been constantly screaming at me whenever i open the drivers door and i have no clue how it happened, any thoughts or recommendations would really help. and to clarify its only the drivers side door and only when the engine is off. like if i go to grab something out of the car even hours after ive driven it, it starts making the dinging noise. AND THIS IS IMPORTANT TOO it also doesnt let me lock it with the key fob when its doing it, i have to manually lock the doors with the key.

Do the dome lights work as they should as far as coming on when a door is opened, and turning off when the body control module times out?

yes the dome lights work normally as well as everything else its just the security dinging everytime the drivers door is open when the engine is off.

Let me see if I've gotten this straight.... the chime sounds off, even though you have removed the keys AND you have not left the headlights/parking lights on. Is that correct?

yes, everything is turned off that needs to be off and it will chime even hours after the engine is turned off and everything is left alone, no lights are left on nothing, its so aggravating im thinking of cutting the wire to the system all together

Before you do anything, have you tried disconnecting the battery and then reconnecting it?

There is a component of the security system attached to the inside of the lower instrument panel facia. It is below and to the outside of the steering wheel shaft. You might see if the electrical connection is still good.

You should have the BCM scanned for data monitoring and possible trouble codes.
