Unhappy 2002 Chevy Blazer ZR2

Hi all. Been registered on the forums for a while, but haven't posted much.

I was just given a 2002 Chevy Blazer ZR2 that needs some work. The main problem I have with it right now is that the cruise control seems to be stuck on as it wants to do a constant 70km/hour.

My boss, who gave me the truck, said it was doing that when he parked it. Now I don't really need the cruise control at this point, but I would rather fix it if possible than do a bandaid fix by removing the fuse. Any thoughts on where to start looking?

you could disconnect the cable on the throttle body or follow the cable up to the firewall to the cruise control box and unplug the power to it there

I would rather fix it than disable it. I'm just not sure where to start looking for the cause.
