You aren't replacing the entire distributor, just the cap and rotor. If you pull off the rotor and see debris on the terminals inside, then you need to replace the cap and rotor. Likewise if there is a crack in the cap. These are typical tune up parts on engines with distributors. If you remove the cap and find that it looks good underneith, then put it back on and return the parts. It really is up to you.

OOOO thank you for that information. I honestly didn't know. Duh!! So the only thing I need for a good tune up, the truck has 60K on it, is plugs, wires, cap, & rotor? I don't need anything else then correct?
