2008 4.3 in a 1996 Blazer?
I am planning to pull my drivetrain this spring as my motor has front and rear seal oil leaks. It does not burn any oil, but it does leak a little. It has 125,000 on it, and it runs great.
But, since I am going to pull it out and basically go through and replace all gaskets, belts, hoses, vacuum lines, etc. I was debating if I should just opt for a drop out engine.
I found a 2008 4.3 from a pickup with 4,500 miles on it, and it would be around $800 for it.
I am pretty sure the physical engine is unchanged, but it does have the multi port fuel injection on it.
Has anyone used a later model 4.3 in a 96, 97 vintage Blazer? If so, any pointers?
I am not worried about electrical connectors or wiring, I can take care of that. Not sure if the 96 computer can handle the later model multi port fuel injectors.
I know I can simply use my injection setup, but would rather use the multi port setup.
