Default 305

Hello, I'm looking for a rebuilt 305 for an 81 k5 blazer. I'm having some trouble finding one, be it by iether an onlie site or store.

My question is this, where would I be best to look for this (like what kind of stores have this, where in the phone book should I be looking) or if anyone knows of any websites that could help me with this. Also, I have looked ut upgarding to a 350, but have been told that this would require a deal of extra work dealing with throttle and tranny linkages to engine mounting bolts.

Any comments are welcome.

Default RE: 305

The swap should be almost seamless.....the 305 and 350 use the same trannys and mounts...the carb off your 305 should drop down on a 350 intake maifold. The only issues I see is headers, distributer and accesoies....pretty sure the front assesories on the engine should bolt up too....other than that personaly the 305 is a bit of a boat anchore......but if time, tools, knowledge, and coast are a problem then your local race shop or machine shop should have 305 long and short blocks at hand or can get you one resenably quick! Hope this helps
